Before the appointment
After your booking request, the examiner confirms an available UTC appointment and arranges payment directly. Watch the pre-exam briefing, check your camera and microphone and prepare valid photo identification.
Joining the online session
The examiner begins with a friendly introduction, confirms your identity and explains the process. This is designed to make expectations clear and help you settle into a natural conversation. The professional criteria do not change, but unnecessary pressure is avoided.
The assessment conversation
The exam lasts approximately 20 minutes. You may discuss aviation experience, operational situations and unexpected events, respond to questions and demonstrate how you understand and interact in English. The exact prompts vary. You should answer naturally rather than deliver prepared speeches.
The examiner evaluates pronunciation, structure, vocabulary, fluency, comprehension and interaction. The lowest score across the descriptors determines the overall ICAO level.
After the examination
The official administration, result and certificate are processed through an approved Language Testing Body. Results are normally issued within 12 hours; allow up to 24 hours. The certificate may support a Level 4, Level 5 or Level 6 endorsement, subject to acceptance by your licensing authority.
How a mock differs
A mock follows a realistic assessment style and shows you how an actual exam is conducted, but it does not produce an official result, licence endorsement or certificate. You receive feedback and clear priorities for improvement before the official assessment.
